Southern Artist SUSAN J. OSWALD speaks to her audience through landscapes, casual portraits, and artistic interpretations of family trees.

Always balancing her art with vocation, Susan utilized her natural talents and Bachelor of Fine Arts to achieve a long and successful career in the fashion world. After owning and operating a stylish retail apparel business for over twenty years, she completed her fashion career by establishing a prosperous apparel trade showroom at the AmericasMart Atlanta. During her many years of fashion traveling, Susan continued to paint and draw in every spare moment. She now works full-time from her rural Allendale, South Carolina studio celebrating her lifelong dream to paint.

Susan’s oil painting portraits capture the spirit, personality, and inner souls of the subjects in their most familiar and relaxed everyday worlds. Her oil landscapes evoke vivid memories of pastures, forests, farmlands, ponds and creeks. With pen and ink, Susan interprets family genealogy with charismatic artistic flourish.
